The Pyramid of Khufu
People discovered more than a hundred pyramids in Egypt. The most famous of them is the Pyramid of Khufu. It's also the largest one. It is about 136.5 metres tall. That is as high as a 40-storey(层) building! Workers used about 2.3 million blocks of stone to build it. And it took about 20 years。

Petra
Petra is an ancient city in Jordan. People carved the buildings of Petra from rocks. It is also called the "Rose City" because the rocks have a golden-red colour in the sunlight. Petra was a rich trade centre once(曾经). The only way to enter the city is through the Siq. It is a long, narrow canyon(峡谷). It is about 1.5 kilometres long.
