A street dog becomes so popular in the neighbourhood that it brings new customers(客户) to a bank in Dalian, Liaoning.
The dog is yellow and white with a broken(伤残的) ear. She began walking in the neighbourhood about six years ago. She often looked for food at a farmer’s market next to the bank. To look after the dog well, Liu Jian, a cleaner at the bank, took her home and gave her the name “Meili”. “I just do the legwork,” Liu said. “The bank workers pay for her food. They also pay the money spent in the animal hospital.” Sometimes, people near here give the bank workers some change on their way home from the market to buy food for Meili.
A woman lives nearby and she always visits the dog every time she goes past the bank. “Meili is a nice dog. She likes staying with us. I never saw her bark(吠叫) at anyone,” she says.
“Because of the same love of the dog, we’re talking more with people nearby, and more than 30 of them have become new customers,” says Zhang Yi, manager of the bank.
