Show the best of China
The school reporter of Teens Wan Yuyi studies in Chengdu Zongbei Middle School, Sichuan. She and her classmates gave their answers to show the best of China.
Tan Siyu: I choose the Chinese knot(中国结). In China the color red means happiness. The knot means being close together, lucky and safe. Many people put the knot in their houses or cars.
Luo Xiaoying: The Great Wall can. Because it is one of the best places in the world. It can represent China. Chairman Mao said, “He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.” Everybody wants to be a “true man”, I think.
Wan Yuyi: I think the dragon is a good choice. They are not real. But in pictures, they look pretty and powerful. Chinese people used to believe in dragons. In an old story people call the dragon king when there is no rain. The dragon king sneezes(打喷嚏)in the sky and it rains!
