When people travel to another city or country, they
sometimes stay in the homes of the local people. In this

way, the local people can help them. We call it a homestay.
I'm Wan Li from China. I come to the UK with other
exchange students for a short visit. My friend and I are
staying with an old English couple, Mr and Mrs Green, in
London. They have a wonderful old house. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a
kitchen and a big living room. There is a beautiful garden behind the house.
Mrs Green usually does the housework. She washes the clothes and cooks meals
for us. At the weekend, my friend and I sometimes cook Chinese food for them.
They think Chinese food is very yummy.
I think a homestay may be good for us when we go abroad for the first time.
We'll know more about the culture of another country.
