A thunderstorm(雷雨) usually happens in the spring and summer months, and during the afternoon and evening hours. Before the thunderstorm, you can see the sky become dark and feel the wind blow strongly. Lightning looks beautiful, but it's dangerous. So how can we keep safe in a thunderstorm?
If you are at home, you should remember not to touch water. Don't take a shower, wash your hands, or wash the dishes or the clothes. You mustn't use electricity at home either when there is lightning. Turn off anything that needs electricity. Also, don't stand near doors or windows.
If you are outdoors, you should be more careful. When you hear the sound of thunder, go to a safe place quickly. The best place to go is a building or a car, but make sure the windows in the car are closed. Don't stay under the trees. If you can't go anywhere, crouch down(蹲下) in the open area, put your feet together, and put your hands over your ears and have your head between the knees.
When some people get hurt by lightning, your first aid means their life or death in that situation. Don't be afraid to touch them because they don't carry electricity. If you know nothing about first aid, you can call 120 or take them to the hospital as soon as possible.
