Yuan Longping: father of hybrid rice

Who was Yuan Longping?
Yuan Longping was a Chinese rice scientist. He was born in 1930 in Beijing. He died in 2021 in Changsha. He did a lot of research on rice. People call him the father of hybrid rice.
How did his dreams come true?¹
Yuan liked farming at an early age. When he grew up, he studied the science of farming. In 1964, he began to research hybrid rice. It was very difficult, but he never gave up². He worked hard and always stayed in the fields. He developed hybrid rice in 1973. Now hybrid rice grows in China and many other countries. It feeds people all over the world.
