My dear fellow students,
Today I'm glad to introduce my role model to you.
He is Dr Yuan Longping, who is known as China's "Father of Hybrid Rice".
In the 1960s, many people in China didn't have enough food to eat. At that time, some scientists said it was impossible to grow hybrid rice. But Dr Yuan didn't give up. For years, he worked in hot fields, did thousands of experiments, and faced many failures.
Finally, in 1973, he succeeded! His hybrid rice could feed many more people.
Now, it's grown in over 60 countries and helps 80 million people every year.
I look up to Dr Yuan because he made the impossible possible.
He taught us that with hard work and hope, we can overcome any difficulty.
