A lost garden comes back again
Mount Vesuvius in Italy erupted (爆发) in 79 CE. It destroyed a garden. Experts found signs of flowers and fruit trees there. These plants were grown to make natural perfumes (香水). Now flowers and fruit trees have been planted again in the garden. They remind visitors of the garden's history.

The Postal Service introduces zip codes (邮编)
In 1963, the US Postal Service began to use zip codes to deliver the mail more efficiently. The new way was not popular at first because people were not sure that they could remember the numbers. Today, there are nearly 42,000 zip codes in the US.

A famous shipwreck (沉船) is found
In 2022, researchers proved that a shipwreck off the coast of Rhode Island is the Endeavor, a famous lost ship. British explorer James Cook was the ship's leader from 1768 to 1771, and he became the first European to reach the eastern coast of Australia and other places. England later took over the ship and sold it. The ship sank in 1778.

The first woman pilot who broke the sound barrier (音障)
On May 18, 1953, Jacqueline Cochran became the first woman to break the sound barrier. Cochran helped train women pilots during World War II. When she died in 1980, she held the most flying records of any person, man or woman.
