Jason Ho
I am eight. I have serious problems in bones. I returned from Australia with my parents for treatment. Ronald McDonald House is next to the hospital, so we were advised to live here. I often feel sick after treatment, but every time I return to the House, I feel better with my friends here.

The Global Junior Tennis Cup is an important competition for young players. Among them is 15-year-old Jay Miller. In his white shirt and shorts, he looks like any other player—but Jay is a little different.
Jay is deaf, so he plays tennis differently from others. Most players listen to the sound of the ball when it hits the racket. They use that to know how fast and strong the ball is. Jay never hears these sounds. Instead, he watches closely and knows what to do by looking.
He started learning tennis when he was very young. It wasn't easy. Since he couldn't hear the coach(教练), he had to learn to read lips(嘴唇). At first, he often made mistakes and didn't understand much. But he trained every day, even when tired. Over time, he got better. Now, Jay understands his coach and plays with confidence.
During games, Jay also can't hear the crowd. Tennis matches are often noisy—people cheer and shout. Not hearing the crowd helps Jay stay calm and focus on the game.
Although Jay faces special challenges, he never asks for special help. In fact, he doesn't always tell the umpire(裁判员) about his hearing problem. Sometimes this causes trouble—he might miss an order and keep playing.
His coach, Mr Benson, gives short advice during practice. And yes, sometimes Jay misses morning training. He doesn't always hear his alarm clock!
After one match, a reporter asked Jay how he stayed strong. Jay smiled and said, “I just love tennis.” He doesn't let his hearing stop him. His message is clear: Never stop going after your dream even when it's hard. You're stronger than you think.
