BOOKS THAT CHANGED MY LIFE
Liz Pichon is famous for her Tom Gates series(系列) for children, which has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide. Her new book, You Can Draw Tom Gates is out now, published(出版) by Scholastic. The following three books which she read in her childhood changed her life.
The Bad Speller by William Steig
Reading this as a child was a life-changing moment. My mum's friend bought me this book because she knew it could help with my spelling problems. It really worked. The drawings in the book planted a seed(种子) in my head somewhere that pictures and words go together and can be really funny.

Silly Verse for Kids by Spike Milligan
The tiny and thin book is just completely humorous with silly poems inside and the pictures in it are easy for you to copy. After reading it, I started writing my own poems, which always seemed silly. It was one of the books you would read as a kid and it would really spark(点亮) your imagination. If you read the poems in this book to your children now, they would still find pleasure in them.

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
This is another book I read at my father's knee and one that sparked my imagination and shaped my writing life. It was my strongest childhood wish to fall down a rabbit hole that might take me to Wonderland. Wonderland with its Cheshire Cat and never-ending tea parties led me to a lifelong love of cats and cakes.
