Hello, everyone! My name is Annie. Not long ago, our class went to ski at the Olympic Forest Ski Slope(奥林匹克森林公园四季滑雪场). When we arrived there, we couldn't help laughing at what we saw—there was no snow at all!
On the slope(斜坡), there were only slippery(滑的) little balls. We learnt that this was a dry ski slope, or man-made(人造的) ski slope. It lets people ski where there is no natural snow.
Although skiing without snow might sound a little funny, we can have the same feeling on dry slopes. Our teacher first showed us some videos about how to ski and then asked us to give it a try.
Standing on the high slope, I felt quite nervous(紧张的). After all, it was my first time to ski. But my classmates kept encouraging me and I finally took the first step forward.
As I went down, I felt happy. I could even feel the spring wind blowing as I skied faster. I felt there was little difference between these small balls and real snow—only that the balls would make more noise.
After trying it for the first time, I really enjoyed skiing. Next time I want to try it on real snow.

In Spain, children and their families are riding bikes to school together in large groups. It is called “bicibús” or “bike bus”. In Barcelona, it started with only a few children and grew quickly to hundreds of riders.
Children in Eixample, Barcelona have a new way to get to school on Fridays—they ride their bikes. In September, a group of children started biking to school with their parents on Fridays. Soon the group grew to 150 or more. The bike bus starts around 8:00 every Friday morning. The road it will follow is always posted before starting, so everyone knows where to join.
The bicibús takes over all the street. And because more and more cycling and skating kids join in it, the police are helping stop traffic by riding in front of the bicibús and behind it. Parents are happy because that means their children will get to school safely(安全地).
With music playing and bike bells ringing, the bicibús is just like a party. “The best part of the bicibús is that we ride along and pick up our friends and we ride together,” nine-year-old Maria Pitarch says.
Before the bicibús programme(项目), it wasn’t safe for kids in Eixample to go to school by bike because of the narrow bike lanes and the heavy traffic. Parents hope that the bicibús programme will change people’s ideas about getting around. Biking, they say, is a great way of exercise. It’s also better for our nature.
