John and his friend Max loved playing basketball. Max was a good player—when they practised alone, he hardly missed. But in school games, things were different. When many people watched, Max got nervous and often couldn’t make easy shots(投篮).
“I just feel afraid when everyone looks at me,” Max told John one day. John knew his friend’s worry: Max was afraid of letting the team down. “You play very well when we’re together.” John asked,“Why is it hard in games?”
Max said sadly,“I think about making mistakes. The more people I see, the harder it is to play well.”
John had an idea. The next day, they went to the playground. After some shots, John said,“I need to get something. Keep practising—I’ll be back soon.”
John didn’t go far. He ran to the school and brought five classmates, Mr Lee, the maths teacher, and Mrs Chen, the school cleaner.“Watch Max play,” he said.
At first, Max looked worried. But as he started shooting, he relaxed. He made five shots in a row! The small group cheered happily.
“See?” John smiled.“You can do it with people watching. They’re here to cheer for you.” Max laughed,“Maybe I was too hard on myself.”
In the next game, Max played very well. When the crowd cheered, he smiled and made the shot—right into the basket!

Zhou Dong is a hero in his hometown village. He was an engineer in a big city company. He wore a clean suit every day and sat in a bright office. But he always thought about his village. Every time he called his parents, they told him how sad the villagers were—their oranges didn’t sell well.
Many villagers in his hometown grew oranges. The oranges were sweet and juicy, but few people knew about them. Last year, he finally made up his mind to help them. “I must do something,” he said. He gave up his good job and went back home with three friends. They set up an online shop. They took beautiful photos of the fresh oranges and wrote stories about the village on the Internet. They even showed how villagers picked(采摘) oranges early in the morning. Thanks to their hard work, shoppers could get the delicious oranges in just one or two days. Soon, all the oranges were sold out, and villagers smiled widely.
However, another problem appeared. Most orange gardens had heavy water and soil loss(水土流失). “If we lose good soil, the oranges won’t taste good,” Zhou said. So his team worked with villagers. They made new small rivers to let water run better and grew special grass to hold the soil.
Now, Zhou and his friends decide to stay. “Our village has so many fields. We will teach villagers how to plant apples and strawberries. Our village will be better and better,” Zhou said happily. They want to bring more surprises to their hometown.

22题问周东返乡的原因,回原文找相关表述;23题问第三段主旨,需梳理第三段内容核心;24题问周东对家乡未来的态度,找原文中体现他情感的语句。
【解析】
22题:根据原文第二段“Every time he called his parents, they told him how sad the villagers were—their oranges didn’t sell well. Last year, he finally made up his mind to help them. He gave up his good job and went back home...”
24题:根据最后一段周东的话“Our village will be better and better”以及“Zhou said happily”可知,他对家乡未来充满信心,态度积极乐观,对应选项D。A选项“悲伤”、B选项“担心”、C选项“平静”均不符合原文情感,故24题选D。
