It takes a lot of space in their kitchen, and she doesn't want to waste it. She thinks, "I should find a better way to use the watermelon rind."
In the end, she has a good idea. She wants to make a cake with it to turn waste into delicious food. She first cuts up the watermelon rind into small pieces. Then, she puts them in a blender and soon she gets fresh green juice. She mixes the juice with flour(面粉) carefully. After baking it for some time, she finally makes a delicious green cake.
Now, the green cake is popular with the children of the neighbourhood Nick lives in. They all love its special taste, and many mothers want to learn to make the green cake too.
