It's a snowy Christmas Eve. A small pine tree stands in the forest. It's much shorter than the big pine trees around it. Many families all stop to look at the tall, strong pine trees, and no one even looks at the small one. "I'm too small and thin," the little pine tree says sadly. "No one will pick me for Christmas. I'll be alone on this happy day."
Then, a little rabbit comes. It asks the pine tree in a cute voice, "Little tree, why are you sad? Your branches are so lovely!" The little pine tree says, "Everyone picks big pine trees for Christmas. No one wants me." The rabbit says, "Don't be sad! We can make you beautiful together!" The kind rabbit puts red berries(莓果) in the tree. A little squirrel jumps onto the pine tree and says with a big smile, "I heard you need help! These pinecones(松果) are perfect for you!" It hangs the pinecones on the thin branches gently. And some birds sing songs around it.
Now the small tree looks beautiful. The little pine tree looks at its animal friends and says gratefully, "Thank you all! I'm so happy now!" The rabbit, the squirrel and birds all laugh, "Christmas is not about being big and tall. It's about having good friends and warm hearts!"
