Scientists in Spain found over 200 man-made objects (物品) in some birds' homes. These birds are bearded vultures (胡兀鹫). They eat bones (骨头).
The scientists looked inside 12 old nests on cliffs (悬崖) in southern Spain. There were bones and eggshells in the nests. The scientists also found pieces of cloth (布) and leather, and tens of objects made of grass.
What were the most interesting finds? A slingshot (弹弓), ropes, pieces of basket, and some shoes. One shoe is very old—about 700 years old.
Why are these very old objects in the birds' nests? *Well, bearded vultures use the same nest for hundreds of years. Each generation (代) repairs (修理) it with objects they find nearby. Some are even made by people.
