Farmer Thomas lives on a small farm with his wife Rosa. They have a nice cow. It gives fresh milk every day. Rosa sells the milk and they buy daily food with the money. They live a simple and happy life.
One day, there is a big party in the village. Thomas wants to go with Rosa. But Rosa has no beautiful new dress. Thomas wants to make her happy, so he sells their cow and buys a pretty dress for her.
When Rosa sees the dress, she is not happy. She tells Thomas they need the cow more than a new dress. The cow brings them milk and food every day. A nice dress is just something they want, not something they really need. At last, Thomas buys the cow back. They learn a good lesson from it.
