Meng Xin and his ox
1. Long ago, there was a poor man. His name was Meng Xin. He only had a sick old ox.
2. One day, Meng Xin was away from home. His nephew sold the ox. Meng Xin came back home. He did not see the ox. ①
Meng Xin: Where's our ox? Did you sell it?
Nephew: Yes, I did. ② We need the money to buy food!
3. Meng Xin did not want to sell a sick old ox to others. He hurried to town and tried to find the buyer.
Meng Xin: Did you buy our ox?
Buyer: Yes, I did.
Meng Xin: Sorry, I can't sell it to you. It's old and sick.
Buyer: It's very kind of you. Thank you.
4. Meng Xin got back his sick old ox and won respect from all people.
