Zhuge Liang—A Great Man in History
Zhuge Liang was a great strategist(谋略家；军事家). He lived during the Three Kingdoms period(三国时期). He was very wise(有智慧的), hard-working, calm, brave and loyal(忠诚的). He loved his country and tried his best to help his king and his people. He read many books and learned a lot about history, wars and the world. He was so clever.
One of his most famous stories is the Empty City Strategy(空城计). Once, a strong enemy army(敌军) came near his city with much more soldiers. Zhuge Liang kept calm. He opened the city gate, cleaned the streets slowly and played music on the city wall. The enemy leader thought there must be many soldiers hidden(藏) in the city, so he turned around and ran away at once.
In his life, Zhuge Liang worked day and night. He always put his country and people first. He also wrote many great articles to teach people to be honest, wise and responsible(有责任心的). He never gave up when facing difficulties and always tried his best.
Today, people still respect and remember this great man. His stories are widely(广泛地) told and his spirit(精神) still encourages us to be wise, honest, brave and responsible.
