"I can't go out there," Sam said, when he peeked through the stage curtain. With more and more audience, he said, "I just can't do it!" He was almost in tears. "Honey, you can do it, really," Mrs Mosley, Sam's drama teacher said. "Besides, if you don't go out there, we won't have a show! You are the star of us all."
Over the last six weeks, Sam practised and practised and practised his lines. He could reel them off. But they all left his mind at the moment he saw the audience. The huge crowd would be looking right at him! "Curtain time!" said Mrs Mosley.
Sam, despite his tremulous knees and voice, walked out onstage and delivered his first line. At the minute he finished his first show, he even forgot there were audience. He was a hit!
