ungarian astronaut Tibor Kapu returned
to Budapest on Monday to a hero's
welcome after completing a mission on
the International Space Station (ISS).
Kapu arrived at Liszt

Ferenc International Airport.
He stepped off the plane
with the national flag in
hand. Images of him waving the flag were all over the
news in Hungary.
Hundreds of people got together to greet him. Many
of them wore shirts of the Hungarian to Orbit (HUNOR)
program and waved signs. Prime Minister Viktor Orban
also welcomed him back. He wrote on social media,
"Welcome home, Tibor Kapu!"
Kapu spent June 25 to July 15 on the ISS as part of
the Axiom-4 mission. He worked with astronauts from the
United States, India, and Poland. He did 25 experiments
in medicine, biology, material science, physics,
meteorology, and agricultural engineering.
The HUNOR program started in 2021 to boost
Hungary's role in global (全球的) space science. *Kapu's
mission marks the country's first human space flight since
Bertalan Farkas became Hungary's pioneer astronaut in
1980. It shows Hungary is back in space after 45 years.
