Beep! Beep! I got up and turned off my alarm clock. It was still dark outside. I got dressed quickly 1 I knew both of my dogs couldn't wait to go outside for their morning walk. I needed to wear a coat but didn't know 2 to choose. It was still autumn, but the weather here in the Appalachian mountains didn't follow the 3. It had been cold and snowy two days ago but warm and rainy yesterday. I didn't 4 the weather report for today. My bigger dog Fluffy barked happily when she saw me holding her leash. I opened the door and went outside. Right away, I knew I had made the wrong choice (选择). Each breath I exhaled (呼出) was freezing cold. I looked at the dark sky and saw it was full of twinkling stars.
It was so beautiful, like a painting coming to life before my eyes. Suddenly, I felt warmth inside of me and 8 shivering. I opened my heart to the wonder of nature's creation. In all of its sweet seasons it had 9 failed to touch my soul (灵魂). It had warmed my heart on the coldest days and lit my spirit on the darkest nights.
