A Bike Accident
Tom and Jack were good friends. They lived in a small town and loved riding bikes around the park every weekend. They always talked about exciting things and enjoyed the fresh air.
One sunny afternoon, they decided to race on the park’s bike path. Tom rode fast, trying to catch up with Jack. He didn’t notice a big stone on the road. Suddenly, he hit the stone and fell off his bike heavily. His left knee was cut badly and bleeding a lot. Jack stopped at once and ran to him.
“Are you OK? Let me help you!” Jack said worriedly. He remembered the first aid lessons from school. First, he asked Tom to sit down on the grass. Then he took out a clean cloth from his bag and pressed it hard on the cut to stop the bleeding. After five minutes, the bleeding slowed down. Jack cleaned the cut with clean water and put a bandage on it carefully.
Tom felt a little better. “Thank you, Jack. I was so careless, ” he said. Jack smiled and said, “Don’t move too much. Let’s call your parents and take you to hospital. ” Thanks to Jack’s quick first aid,
Tom’s knee didn’t get worse. Later, the doctor said the cut was not serious, but Tom needed to rest for a week.
