A camera filming in slow motion takes in many more pictures every second. 2 Filmmakers have to slow down this kind of scene. Then our eyes can follow what's going on, and things won't look unclear. But there are more pictures in the scene, so we can see more small details.

Scientists have tested eye activity in humans and pigeons. They found an interesting fact. Pigeons take in twice as many images as humans do in the same amount of time. They are just like a slow-motion camera! A pigeon's sight creates a "movie" with so many pictures. 4
But there is a difference. The birds don't have to slow down the images to see what's happening clearly. Unlike us, they can quickly process a huge number of images. Nothing looks unclear to them. 5 The bird needs to notice everything around it, or it might become another animal's food.
