A: You played badminton? Cool! Swimming and running were my thing.
M: I imagine you were really fast in the pool and on the track.
A: I wasn't too bad. I came in first in some of my races.

M: Didn't your father ever do those things with you?
A: He tried to teach me to play baseball once, but I could never get my hands and eyes work together.
M: My coaches always said skills get better with practice.

One day, a grasshopper(蚂蚱) was relaxing in a field. And he was eating as much grass as he could. When his stomach was full, he began to play some music. He was having a good time in the sun.
Then, an ant walked by. He was carrying some corn.
"Come and sing with me!" said the grasshopper.
"No," said the ant. "I am busy getting food for the winter."
"Don't be serious about the winter!" said the grasshopper. "There's lots of food now and it is sunny today."
But the ant went on his way and kept on collecting food.
"How silly the ant is!" said the grasshopper. "He only needs to worry about winter when winter comes!"
When winter came, the grasshopper had no food. But the ant and his family had plenty to eat.
"Could I have some of your food?" asked the grasshopper.
"Hum..." said the ant. "Although you said I was silly, I'll still help you."
Hearing his words, the grasshopper was very thankful. At the same time, he was regretful for what he did. He learnt a very important lesson—working hard today is to get ready for tomorrow.

Once upon a time, animals were experiencing hunger on a land. There was dry land everywhere. They tried many ways to grow plants. Yet they didn't succeed. A rabbit was walking sadly across the land because of the bad situation. Suddenly a wizard came along. The wizard gave the rabbit a bag filled with flowers and told him they were magical, and that they were even more magical if he knew how to use them.
The rabbit was very hungry, but he decided not to eat the flowers. He wanted to put them to good use. On his way home, the rabbit met a poor old sheep. "Can you give me something to eat?" asked the sheep. The rabbit gave a flower to the sheep. After he did this, the flower shone with thousands of colours. The old sheep became very healthy. The rabbit continued on his way. He met a duck and a crying chick. The rabbit had nothing except his flowers, and he gave them some flowers too.
When he got home, he only had a few flowers left. At that moment, his little brother started crying because of hunger. He gave his brother the rest. At that moment, the wizard appeared again. He asked the rabbit to go outside and see what happened.
The rabbit went out, and he found the whole land turned into a green place. There was enough water and food to feed all the animals.
The rabbit was very happy because he could bring happiness to everyone. Sometimes small help can change a lot. Everyone can make a difference.

Anansi the wise
Some people thought they knew everything. Anansi the spider didn't think that. He was a clever spider. And he knew to have real wisdom, he had to learn more.
One day, Anansi found an empty gourd on the ground and he had an idea. "If I get advice from others and put it in this gourd, then I'll be wiser than anyone else in the world."
So, he went from house to house and asked the other creatures, "What's your best piece of advice?" And they were all happy to share their wisdom because they could see that Anansi needed it.
The snail said, "Don't be in a hurry. Life is not a 100-metre race."
The butterfly said, "Life is short. Enjoy every day."
The ant said, "You'll never be great on your own. Everyone needs the help of others."
Anansi was very happy with all the advice. And after he filled the gourd, he thought to himself, "Now, I have more wisdom than anyone else. I must hide the wisdom, so no one can steal it." He looked and saw a hole high up in a tree, and he had an idea.
Anansi held the gourd in two legs and tried to climb the tree with his other six legs. But the gourd was too big and he couldn't climb. His son was nearby watching him. "Daddy," he said, "why don't you tie the gourd to your back and then climb the tree?" "That's very good advice," said Anansi. "Thank you for sharing it with me." And then Anansi realized that advice was only useful when he shared it with someone. So he opened the gourd. All the advice flew into the sky and travelled across the land. And wisdom came to everyone.
