Our school has a long-time tradition of the School Labor(劳动) Day. Every year,on the first Monday of May,students and teachers come together to take part in a day of service to our community(社区).
The day begins with a school meeting, where we learn about the history and importance of the School Labor Day. We also listen to speakers who share their experiences about community service and the importance of giving back.
After the meeting,teachers divide(划分) students into groups and we head out into the community to do different work. Some groups work on cleaning up streets, while others visit the elderly. On the day, we work hard to make a difference to our community.
At the end of the day,we all come back together for a closing ceremony(典礼). We share stories about our experiences and think about what we have achieved. All the students like the ceremony because it gives them a sense of satisfaction(满意).
