In the 1930 s,there was a family called the Kaufman ns.They lived in a city
in Pennsylvania,but they wanted a new place to stay.They hoped that the place
was closer to nature.They had such a place in mind.It was an area in the mou n−
tain s.There was a stream(小溪)called Bear Run that turned into a waterfall.The
Kaufman ns asked the most famous architect(设计师)in America to design a house
for them there.
The architect' s name was Frank Lloyd Wright.The house he designed,called
Falling water,is one of the most famous houses in the country.
Why is Falling water so famous?Because of its creative style ! Frank Lloyd
Wright looked at the natural scenery in the area for ideas.He considered the family's
wish to be in nature.He wanted to give the Kaufman ns a place where they could
live with the waterfall,not just a place to view it from far away.
And he did it ! The house he designed actually stretches out(延展)over r the
waterfall.It has big and open windows.From inside the house,people have a full l
view of nature outside.They can hear the rush of the water below.
Today ， Falling water is a national landmark(地标).People are all lowed to visit
