Getting better at writing
Many people find it hard to get started when picking up pens to write articles. In fact，improving writing is just like getting better at playing music or doing well in a sport. 1
Reading a lot is helpful for writing.
I read different things every day like stories，poems and news. 2 For example，reading Chinese writer Lu Xun’s stories and foreign writer Charles Dickens’ works showed me how different writers tell stories.
Practising often is very important.
I started by keeping a diary. 3 This habit not only improved my ability to express myself but also helped me understand my writing style. I also took part in writing competitions at school，letting more people read my works. 4
