My name is Dingding. One warm day, I went to visit the Yellow Crane Tower in my hometown Wuhan. I have lived here since I was born, but I had never been to this famous place before. While I was looking at the tower, I suddenly heard a voice in Chinese, "Excuse me." I turned around and saw a foreigner (外国人). He spoke to me in Chinese, "Are you a local (本地人)? Could you show me around the valuable building? I'm a stranger here."
I didn't know what to say. If I said yes, I knew little about the tower. If I said no, it was also a lie (谎言), as I am a local person. My face turned red.
"Well, the Yellow Crane Tower is an old building." That was all I knew and my voice was so low that I couldn't even hear myself. All that kept in my mind was the admiration (钦佩) for the old man.
