Wang Ning is a 15-year-old boy from Nanchang. He loves mountain climbing. Last summer, he joined a youth climbing team to climb a small mountain in Anhui. It was his first time climbing a mountain without his parents.
At first, Wang Ning was very excited. The mountain was beautiful with green trees and clear rivers. But after walking for two hours, the way became steep(陡峭的) and narrow. He felt tired and wanted to give up. His teammates(队友) encouraged him, “Keep going! You can do it!” Wang Ning took a deep breath and kept climbing.
When they were halfway up the mountain, it suddenly began to rain. The way became wet and slippery. Wang Ning almost fell down. But he held onto a tree and kept his balance. His team leader gave him a raincoat and told him to be careful.
After four hours of hard climbing, they finally got to the top. The rain stopped and the sun came out. Wang Ning looked down at the beautiful view below. He felt very proud(自豪的) of himself. “I didn’t give up even when it was hard,” he said. “This experience taught me that nothing is impossible if you keep trying.”
