World Environment Day
Nature’s Call — A Poem for World Environment Day
In a changing world, Earth’s cries are clear,
Warming air, strange seasons, things we fear.
Nature once healthy, balanced and free,
Now it’s hurt, damaged endlessly.
Icebergs(冰山)melt in the warming seas,
A sad song carried by the breeze.
Forests cry with their leaves in pain,
But hope remains for sun and rain.
Man-made problems fill the air,
Smoke and waste, too much to bear.
Earth’s lungs struggle, gasping(喘息)for breath,
We must act now to save it from death.
Reduce, reuse, recycle, take a stand,
For Mother Earth, let’s join hand in hand.
In schools and homes, let knowledge grow,
We are the ones who can stop the woe.
Hope shines bright in every heart,
Together, we can make a fresh start.
With small choices, day by day,
We’ll listen to Nature and find a way.
World Environment Day, created by the United Nations in 1972, is celebrated every June 5th. It raises awareness and encourages actions to protect our planet. This day brings people, governments, and organizations together to learn, act, and push for environmental changes. It’s a special day for us to think about helping the Earth. We can plant trees, use the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle), and clean up parks and oceans. It reminds us to work together to keep our planet healthy for future generations.
