Nanyuan Ancient Village
There is an old Hakka village called Nanyuan Ancient Village in Heyuan, Guangdong. It has a long history of more than 400 years.
There are many old houses and old temples in the village. You can see big wooden gates, nice carvings, gray brick walls and red lanterns everywhere.
There is a big old banyan tree（榕树）in the ancient village. It is very tall and strong. In summer, it is very cool under the tree. There are many big green leaves. There are some beautiful flowers near the tree. Children play games and hide under the tree. There is also a big patio（天井）in the village. People wash things near it. Grandparents sit in the patio and tell stories to the kids. Family members chat and share their daily life here.
People live and study here. They tell stories and pass down Hakka culture. Today, Nanyuan Ancient Village is a famous place. Many people come to visit it and learn about Hakka history.
