The person that I will never forget is my English teacher, Ms. Lee. She is about 30 years old and always wears a warm smile. She is kind and patient, and she never gets angry when we make mistakes.
When I was in Grade 8, my English was poor. I was afraid to speak in class because I thought my pronunciation was bad. One day, Ms. Lee asked me to stay after class. She told me, "Don’t be shy. Everyone makes mistakes. Practice makes perfect." She spent two weeks helping me prepare for the school English speech contest. On the day of the contest, I was very nervous, but when I saw her encouraging eyes, I felt brave. I spoke slowly and clearly, and finally, I won the third prize. That day, I realized I could do it if I tried.
Ms. Lee has a big influence on me. Now I am more confident and I enjoy speaking English. I know I wouldn’t have improved so much without her help. I will always be thankful to her for showing me that with hard work and encouragement, anything is possible.
