A Helpful Girl
Read the passage and answer this question: Can Kate wash the cups?

Hi! My name is Kate. I am twelve years old. I am a helpful girl at home. I like to help Mother with the housework. I can cook the meals, wash the clothes and clean my bedroom.
One day, Mother is cooking in the kitchen. She says to me, "Kate! I want some clean cups. I want you to wash the cups. Can you wash them?" "Sure, Mum." I carry the cups and put them into a basin. I wash them one by one, then put them on the table. But I drop a cup on the floor. "Oh! Mum," I say. "I'm sorry." "It's all right. Just be careful," Mother says. I pick up the pieces of the cup. Mother brings the food to the table. It's time for dinner.
