One day in early summer, a prince rode his horse into the woods. He was a very handsome prince, and he was very strong. The prince loved to ride in the peaceful woods around his father's palace. He loved to hear the birds sing, and smell the fresh air. But he was very lonely. He was hoping to find a princess to love and marry.
A few hours later, the prince saw a glass box in the woods. He stopped and saw a beautiful young girl lying down inside it. He thought, "How beautiful she is! How peaceful she looks! She must be my wife." Then he found some words on one side of the glass box, "Here lies Snow White, the daughter of a king."
The prince thought for a minute. He did not want to leave Snow White behind. He decided to take her with him.
Then the seven dwarves arrived to visit Snow White.
"Who are you?" they asked. "I am a prince, the son of a king from the East," he told them. "I want to take Snow White home because I love her."
The dwarves could see that it was the truth. They agreed to let him take her with him.
The prince and his men lifted the glass box. They began to walk, but one of them bumped into a small tree. The glass box was shaken, and the piece of the apple that was stuck in Snow White's throat came out.

Snow White began to breathe again. Soon she opened her eyes. The prince and his men put the glass box down with excitement and opened it. Snow White sat up and said, "Where am I? Who are you?" The prince was full of joy to see her alive. "I am a prince. I want you to be my wife. Will you come with me and marry me?" he asked her.
Snow White could see that he had a gentle and kind heart. She fell in love with him too. She was very happy and she went to the palace with him.
