Place: The old people's home of our community
Activities: 1. We cleaned the rooms and windows for the elderly first. 2. We performed prepared programs, including singing old songs and telling interesting stories to cheer the elders up. 3. We talked with them and helped them learn to send messages on their mobile phones.
Photos: We took lots of warm photos, such as the group photo of all volunteers and the elders, and the photo that an old grandpa taught me to write Chinese calligraphy.
How did you feel? I felt really happy and proud the whole day. When I saw the big smile on every elder's face, I got a strong sense of satisfaction and even forgot my tiredness.
What did you learn from the activities? I learned that old people are usually lonely and they need more care and company. Also, helping others can bring us great joy, and even small things we do can make a difference to other people's lives.
