On April 22, 2026, the 13th group of remains of the martyrs of Chinese People's Volunteer Army（中国人民志愿军烈士）returned to China from South Korea. A Y-20B plane carried 12 martyrs’ remains and 146 personal belongings and war relics to Shenyang, Liaoning Province.
The handover ceremony took place at Incheon Airport early in the morning. At 11:25 a.m., the plane landed at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport. People held a solemn water-salute ceremony, the greatest honor for these martyrs.
More than 70 years ago, these heroes left
their hometowns to fight in the war. They sacrificed their lives to defend our motherland and world peace, resting in foreign lands for tens of years. China began to bring back the martyrs’ remains from South Korea in 2014. By 2026, a total of 1,023 martyrs had returned home. Soldiers carried coffins draped with our national flag, and all people bowed to remember and respect the heroes.
We should always honor our heroes. As teenagers, we must carry forward their noble spirit, love our country, and study hard. Only a strong nation can welcome its heroes home and protect its people.
