C(2026·连云港期末)
Soon, Toad(蟾蜍) saw an empty car by a house beside the road. He jumped in, started it, and drove off, shouting, "Toot! Toot! Poop! Poop!" When the car's owner(车主) came out and found his car was gone, he called the police right away. "Someone stole(偷) my car," he said. "I think it was Toad."
As soon as Toad arrived at the town, a policeman stopped Toad. "You stole this car," he said. "You're a thief—you have to go to court(法庭)." Toad tried to drive away, but the policeman stood in front of the car. Toad called the policeman "Fat Face" and drove over his foot. The angry policeman took Toad to the police station.
The next day, Toad stood in front of a judge(法官). The policeman told the judge, "This Toad stole a car, drove over my foot and called me 'Fat Face'." The judge said, "This is a really bad thing."
Toad said, "I didn't mean to steal it—I just wanted to borrow it. I wasn't thinking correctly; I'd been sick." Rat stood up and said, "It's true—he was ill." But the judge was hungry and didn't want to listen more. "You're guilty(有罪的)," he said. "You'll go to prison for 20 years."
Toad stood tall and shouted at the judge, "No, Fat Face!" The judge said, "Oh, no. Now you'll go to prison for 40 years for calling me 'Fat Face'." Then the policemen led Toad off to prison.

根据"'Someone stole(偷) my car,' he said. 'I think it was Toad.'"
But the judge was hungry and didn't want to listen more."
