Using AI to help others
“At first, I just wanted a tool （工具） to help me study. Then it drew attention from more people,” Qiu Yumo, 13, told the reporter. Qiu is from Huitong School in Shenzhen. She made AI Button, an online AI learning tool for middle school students.
How does AI Button work?
“My classmates and I want to have a learning friend to help us remember the key information. When we don’t know something, we can also ask for help at any time,” Qiu said about her idea.
“Students only need to put what they are studying into AI Button. The AI will quickly find key points, ask questions, and answer students’ questions as well. This AI is like a teacher and meets each student’s needs,” Qiu said.
Qiu’s story
Qiu Yumo started learning programming （编程） at the age of 6. She started to use AI to make tools in 2023. As a pet lover, she also made a tool to count pets’ steps （步数）.This can help people to keep pets healthy.
Many students loved Qiu’s idea of AI Button. They wanted to join and work together to make it better. “Now I have a small team of students from different schools. We are improving AI Button and trying to let more people know about it,” she said.
