You're complaining to your parents about something. Maybe your computer isn't good enough. Or your friends' bikes are better than yours. Then you hear...
"When I was at your age, there weren't any computers. And I didn't get a bike until I was 16. And it was a second-hand bike. Also it was too big for me!"
So, is it really true that life is better for kids now? The answer is yes. Many kids can get more things than their parents. There are fewer children in a family now, so parents have more money to spend on each child.
Technology started bringing many changes to our world after 1990. Thirty years ago, there were no small computers or different kinds of smartphones. But now some people even can't live without them!
However, in this technology age, we often spend more time at home. Kids aren't as healthy as they were in the past because they don't spend their time on exercise. They surf the internet and watch TV in their free time. And, although young people still keep in touch with their friends, some people think kids today aren't as sociable as they were in the past.
