Last spring, I spent a weekend in the Lake District with my cousin Emily. We took a train from Manchester to Windermere, and the journey was both comfortable and scenic. Upon arrival, we checked into a small guesthouse near the lake.
On Saturday morning, we hiked up a hill called Orrest Head. The trail was steep in some parts, but the panoramic view from the top was worth the effort. We could see the lake, the hills, and even some sheep in the distance. After the hike, we had lunch at a local café, where I tried a traditional meat pie for the first time. It was delicious!
In the afternoon, we rented bicycles and rode along the lakeside path. The weather was pleasant, with a gentle breeze and plenty of sunshine. We stopped several times to take photos and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Overall, the trip was both relaxing and enjoyable. I hope to return to the Lake District someday to explore more of its natural beauty.
