4. Add 3 tablespoons of salt and stir(搅拌) the water until the salt dissolves(溶解).
5. Place the other egg into the glass and watch it float. |
| Science Behind | • The egg will sink in regular tap water because the density of the egg is greater than the density of water. The egg's density is only slightly higher than water at 1.03 g/cm³, but that is enough to make the egg sink.
• When we add salt, the density of the salt water increases.
• Once the density of the salt water is greater than that of the egg, the egg will float. |
