I went to a summer camp (夏令营) in the USA along with my classmates in the summer of 2024.
I lived in a host family for five days. The grandparents were farmers and they had a big farm. It took me half an hour to look around it on a horse. And for the first time, I milked a cow. The grandparents were friendly and gave me lots of useful advice. For example, they said I should say “excuse me” if I have to ask someone how to get to some places.
I stayed in Washington for a week. I took some classes in a school. They were different from the classes I had at my school in China. In the USA, some students sat together and spoke freely to make a relaxing and exciting atmosphere (氛围). I made friends with a boy named Bob. He showed me around the school and we always ate together.
I also visited some schools in New York. So many people did a lot to make their schools more famous and I was inspired (激励).
It was my first time to go to another country for so long a trip. I was afraid that it would be a difficult trip. But everything went well and I was happy all the time.
