Part 3 Reading and writing(阅读和写作)
The Health & Challenge Camp
I’m Danny. Last summer, I joined a special camp called the “Health & Challenge Camp”. It was a two-week program that combined (结合) learning about healthy habits with overcoming personal challenges. I was both excited and nervous.
In the first week, we focused on (专注于) health. Nurse Wang taught us many things. “Good health isn’t just about not being sick,” she said. “It’s about feeling strong and full of energy every day.” We learned to make healthy snacks like fruit salads. We also did different sports every afternoon. I found that I really enjoyed swimming! Dr Chen gave us a talk and told us, “Remember, taking good care of your body is your most important job.” By the end of the week, I understood why junk food was bad and how exercise made our bodies stronger.
The second week was about challenges. My challenge was speaking in front of others. Like Shenshen, I used to be very shy. Coach Li helped us. “A challenge is like a big mountain,” he said. “It looks scary (恐怖的), but you can climb it step by step (逐步地).” We practised a lot. First, I told a short story to just one partner. Then, I spoke to a small group. My heart was beating so fast! But I didn’t give up. I remembered the famous saying: “Where there is a will, there is a way.” Finally, on the last day, I told a story to everyone in the camp! I was so proud of myself.
I learned that health and courage are connected (有关联的). When your body is strong, your mind feels strong too. And when you face your challenges without giving up, you feel healthier and happier inside. It was the best summer ever!
