A group of frogs were traveling through the forest when two of them fell into a deep pit（坑）. The other frogs gathered around the pit and looked down at the two frogs. They told the two frogs that the pit was too deep and that they would never get out. The two frogs didn't listen and tried their best to jump out of the pit. The other frogs kept shouting, telling them to give up.
Finally, one of the two frogs got tired and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Other frogs kept shouting at him to stop, but he jumped even harder. At last, he jumped out of the pit.
When he got out, the other frogs asked him, “Why did you keep jumping when we told you to give up?” The frog explained, “I am a little hard of hearing. I thought you were encouraging me all the time.”
