Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish writer. Treasure Island is one of his most famous books. In this book, the main character is Jim Hawkins. He lives near the sea in England. His parents have a hotel and they want Jim to be the future owner of this hotel, but Jim doesn't want to live like that.
One day, Jim meets an old seaman called Billy Bones. He has a map showing the location of Captain Flint's treasures on an island far away. After Bones dies, Jim gets the map. He takes a ship to the island with Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and Captain Smollett. Jim finds that there are pirates(海盗) among the people on the ship. Their leader is a one-legged man named Long John Silver. He is the cook on the ship. The pirates try to take the map from Jim and his friends. But they all fail. After many adventures, Jim and his friends find the treasures. Jim and his friends go back to England finally. Although Robert Louis Stevenson wrote the book in 1881, Treasure Island is still a popular book until now. Both children and adults enjoy this exciting adventure story.
