Ahmed Hassan is an Egyptian doctor. He 1 over two months building a model of China's Temple of Heaven(天坛) 2 about 22,000 matchsticks(火柴杆). The 3 is about 50 centimetres high, 1 metre long and 1 metre wide.
Hassan found this 4 in 2013 and has built more than 20 models of famous buildings from 5 including Egypt, Britain, France, Denmark and Russia over the past few years. "I haven't been to 6, but I like the pictures of the temple so much. I also read much about the history of the 7, and I found that it is one of the most important 8 of Beijing," Hassan said.
The temple was built in 1420. The kings of Ming and Qing dynasties 9 good harvests(收获) to heaven there. After hundreds of 10$, it grew into a park in 1918. It covers an area of about 2,730,000 m^2 and is one of the 11$ groups of buildings in the world.
Hassan 12 only matchsticks, white glue and a small knife to build its model. He said that building this matchstick model wasn't an easy job, 13 it was the first time that he had made a model of a building from Asia. Hassan does use 14 in his works, and he used red inside lighting to reflect(反射) on the outside of the Chinese temple.
"The only thing missing now is 15 the name of the temple in Chinese. I am still practising writing the Chinese words," said Hassan, "and I hope Chinese people will like this art."
