Mount Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. Its peak is about 8,848.86 metres above sea level. It lies in the Xizang Autonomous Region of China. Climbing this mountain is a great challenge even for professional mountaineers because of the extreme cold, strong winds, and low oxygen level.
Although it's very dangerous to reach to the top, many people try to make it. Some climbers have inspiring stories. For example, Wang Minglong, a man from Chongqing, got a serious illness at 13 and was told he might need to use a wheelchair for life. But he never gave up his dream. In 2023, he successfully reached the top of Mount Qomolangma, becoming the first person with his condition to do so.
