Hare: (laughing loudly) Hey, Tortoise! You move so slowly. Can you even run?
Tortoise: (calmly) I may be slow, but I can beat you in a race!
Hare: (surprised) Beat me? That's a joke! Let's have a race right now!
Fox: Okay! The race starts here and ends at the big oak tree over there. On your marks, get set, go!
(Hare runs quickly and soon leaves Tortoise far behind. Then he stops and lies down under a small tree)
Hare: (yawning) Tortoise is still far away. I can take a short nap and still win easily.
(Tortoise keeps walking step by step, never stopping)
(After a long time, Tortoise reaches the finish line. Hare wakes up and runs as fast as he can, but it's too late)
Fox: (shouting) Tortoise wins the race!
Tortoise: (smiling) Slow and steady wins the race.
Hare: (looking sad) I was too proud. I shouldn't have slept during the race.
