A Night We’ll Never Forget
Last summer, I was staying at my grandma’s home in the countryside. The evening was quiet, and we were watching TV. Suddenly, the wind started to roar. Trees were bending, and the rain was pounding on the roof like thousands of small drums.
“It’s a typhoon!” Grandma shouted.
While she was closing the windows, I was looking for candles. The lights went out. Everything went dark. My little sister was crying, and I tried to calm her down. Outside, the wind was howling and branches were flying everywhere.
The storm lasted about two hours. When it finally stopped, we went outside. Trees were lying on the ground, and the street was covered with leaves and broken tiles. But we were safe.
That night, I learned something important: Nature is powerful, but staying calm and helping each other are our best weapons(武器).
