Ⅴ. Read and tick.
Long ago, people didn't have money. They got the things they needed by barter Barter means trading one thing for another. For example, when a farmer wanted to get some fish, he would take grain to a fisherman who needed grain at the same time.
But barter had big problems. If the fisherman didn't want grain, they couldn't trade. Sometimes, things were hard to carry, such as a cow. It was not easy to take it everywhere to trade. So trade was difficult in ancient (古代的) times.
Later, people started to use some small, useful things as money, such as shells, stones or metals (金属). This helped people trade more easily.

答案

2. 勾选“Why people created (创造) money.”
They used things to trade with each other.”
Because the other person might not want their things.”

解析

1. 根据文中“Barter means trading one thing for another.”
